Two Attempted Hikes -- Two Snow Delays

Memorial Day Snow!!

We woke up to chilly temps and SNOW!!  Sandy and I set up our Skype accounts while waiting for the sun to come out and burn away the gray.  It never really happened.  But we made the 25 mile drive East toward Dillon and the lake anyway... hopeful.   It was even colder over there!  We jumped out of the car long enough to walk about 20 yards along the lake's edge and snap this photo on a dock, then headed straight back to shelter.

Back in Avon, it seemed to warm up later in the afternoon ... so we tried another hike around 6:00pm.  Foiled again!!  The temperature dropped about 10 degrees and it started snowing again within the first 15 minutes.  ...back on the couch now.  Tom is confused by that so-called "hike" we got him all excited about!

Tommy will have some good times up here, I'm sure.  :)

  1. We had 90 degrees today--hot and humid in Ohio. Dad and I have been to that lake when we went to breckenridge. We rented bikes and rode all around it!

  2. 90 already?! wow ... hope you had some Lynchburg Lemonade to cool you down. :)

Very cool that we both went to this lake at different times!
