Tom and I hit the road in Kian's Prius at 6:30am. We made a few stops for a few quick walks and some photos -- and one speeding ticket -- but we pretty much powered straight through to arrive at Nathan and Sandy's in Avon (near Vail, CO) exactly 14 1/2 hours later. Below are some photos from stops we made in Utah -- one of the most beautiful, scenic, inspiring landscapes I've ever seen.

Nathan and Sandy had another house guest when we arrived -- a chihuahua named Bruiser. No surprise that Tom and Bruiser were fast friends. Gizmo and Raz (the cats), on the other hand, are going to take a bit longer. Although, Gizmo is proving today to be a little more brave by at least sitting in the same room as Tom. No sign of Raz yet. I'll try to get a photo of Tom and the cats before we leave -- we'll see.
